| I love to read (I am an English teacher, after all) and I love to play video games. My favorites are Madden, Tony Hawk and Fifa. I also have two dogs that I love like they are my children. I have a boxer named Ruby and a Westie named Brian (yes after the Family Guy dog).
I have my Bachelor's of Art degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver. I majored in English, and minored in Education. I teach an array of different English courses, ranging from British Literature (where we study authors such as Chaucer and Shakespeare) to my Society vs. Self class, where we spend time exploring society's relationship with the decisions we make in our lives. Additionally, I teach Writer's Workshop, where the focus is writing in different genres for different purposes. I am also the new Media Specialist and can be found in the library all hours of the day.
Why do I work at Vantage Point? Working with students that have overcome adversity outside of school has been a life-changing experience for me. Working at Vantage Point High School not only allows me to share my knowledge of the English language with my students, but also gives me the opportunity to learn about life from my students that have already been through more than I can ever imagine.
