A Different Way to Do 8th and 9th Grade

The transition from middle school to high school is a big step. For many students, a smaller and more personal setting is exactly what they need to find their footing. The Bridge Program is designed to give students extra support during 8th and 9th grade so they can enter 10th grade with the skills and confidence to graduate on time.

Is the Bridge Program a Good Fit for My Child?

Every student learns differently. You might consider this program if your child:

• Struggles with organization: They often lose assignments, forget materials, or have trouble staying focused on tasks.
• Needs a smaller environment: They feel "lost" in large groups and do better when they have a strong, consistent relationship with their teachers.
• Is falling behind: They have seen a drop in their grades, are missing school frequently, or feel discouraged by their current classes.
• Needs a fresh start: They want a supportive space to build better habits before they start 10th grade.

How the Program Works

We focus on one goal: making sure your student is ready for the rest of high school.

• The same teachers for two years: Students "loop" with the same teachers for both 8th and 9th grade. This stability helps teachers really get to know your student’s strengths and needs.
• 8th grade (foundation): Students focus on building "student skills,” such as organization and time management—while getting a head start on high school-level work.
• 9th grade (credit building): Students earn high school credits in a supportive setting that feels less overwhelming than a large high school.
• Planning for the future: Every student has a dedicated advisor to help them decide where to go for 10th grade, whether that is back to their home high school or another district option.
